What is it that we want from a building?
We spend years choosing a site and we expect our building to become an integral part of it. We want to enhance it and we want our building to bind us to it as a soul is bound to the body.
We want our building to improve every aspect of the environment and in so doing, improve ourselves and give us meaning. We want our building to outlast us, stand as testament to our aspirations, inspire those who follow us, grant them permission to go forward and teach their children to be better.
Through it, we become one with the earth, and at one with those who follow. Like the sapling that we plant, we do it for our children and their children, who will play on its boughs and sit in its shade.
At ARCHImedia we take our role in this process very seriously. We invest our time wisely to give you a building that will surely endure and enhance.
Design
The core business of architecture is design. Every specialisation that we have honed comes from learning and experience. This can be distilled down to two primary elements, Freedom of imagination. and grounded practicality.
Thought Provoking
These two aspects are the yin and yang of the process of creating buildings that are truely stimulating, thought provoking, innovative, sustainable and workable. It is these specialisations that inform the process of design.
What we do
We produce designs for buildings where the end user is seeking a built environment and a space that reflects the higher aspirations of human consciousness. Whether it is for a family or a business our standard remains the same.
Our work is bespoke. Our designs are all ‘one-off’. Designs evolve from the brief and the land. There are no pre-conceived ideas that are brought to the table. Not ours. Not yours. Our tools of trade are simple: Form, Light, Space and Surface. We integrate systems that offer a low emissions and lower running costs. Our buildings are designed for a low carbon footprint.
Our clients are discerning people who are seeking a space that reflects their ideals. They are spread across the globe. They do not advertise their success. They are purveyors of quality and they choose a private way of finding satisfaction.
What we don’t do
We do not pile rooms on top of each other to achieve multiples of small apartments cramped onto suburban blocks.
We do not design replica buildings with building styles from a past period.
We do not pull last week’s drawings out of the files and alter them to suite your block.
We are not ‘off the hanger’ architects.
